Welcome 2018

And it’s 2018! How did this happen so quickly? I know that the beginning of the year can be overwhelming, everyone is talking about changing their lives around and all your social media feed is full of resolutions.

New Year’s Resolutions Suck

Guess what? I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions, because most of them fail. I used to set goals every year (be healthy, go to the gym more often, etc.) but it never worked. Finally, I figured out why, the answer is simple, New Year’s resolutions are way too big and it’s just too much pressure. By no means am I suggesting that you shouldn’t have goals, that would be absurd. However, I do believe that they should be smaller and more realistic. This way you will be able to focus and actually work towards your goals! For example, if your goal is to be healthy, do it! Just remember baby steps. Start by researching what a healthy lifestyle really means. After you’ve filled your head with information, ask yourself “Am I willing to make these changes?” If you are, begin your journey by swapping your junk food for healthy food. Don’t do it all at once, it might be difficult to get used to it, do it slow but steady. Also, if you decide to begin exercising and you haven’t  exercised regularly before, it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. Just take it easy but be persistent. The same goes for all your new resolutions, try to break them down into smaller steps that will make your journey easy and peaceful.

Some tips and encouragement

1. You are capable of doing anything!

2. Celebrate your accomplishments (big or small).

3. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you fail, you are allowed to make some mistakes.

4. Get a planner, it will help you visualize your goals and make them easier to reach them.

5. Make time to take care of your body, mind and soul.

6. Enjoy 2018, it will be a great year for you!
